Enchanting changes on PTR: (remember these might changes again before going live, but this is likely to be close to what happens).

http://www.mmo-champion.com/index.php?topic=32802.0

Basically, what it means is that a lot of recipes which didnt use dream shards now use dream shards. So there is a good chance that the price of dream shards will go up a bit in the weeks following the patch. (still a lot hitting the AH due to heroics etc, but would expect them to go up a bit from what they are now).

A lot of recipes that needed a lot of Greater Cosmic Essence now need far less. So there is a good chance that the price of Greater Cosmic Essence will plummit in the weeks following the patch. (currently 20-25g each; I'd expect them to drop to around 10-12)

Many recipes which needed 20-40 Infinite Dust now need far less. So I expect the gravy train that is infinite dust will hit a wall and they will (sob) drop from around 5g each to (guesswork again) 2g each within a few weeks after the patch.

Other things which will be affected by this are the general price of L73+ greens. A lot of AH players buy these up to DE and sell the enchanting mats so I guess these will drop in price after the patch too.

My favourite was to buy hundreds of eternal earth and/or eternal shadow for 5g each, send them to my JC to make hundreds of Stoneguard or Shadowmight rings, send them to my Enchanter to DE them all, then make a few K from selling on the enchanting mats at a good profit. I know I wasnt the only one who did this, so I also expect the price of Eternal Earth and Eternal Shadow to come down a bit in the weeks after the patch.

Here ends my market report for today :-)  (all guesswork ofc - but it will "probably" happen)

ouch.. 13 extra out of 36 recipes now use shards that they didnt before.. ive been expecting the dust usage to drop for a while thought, if you are enchant/tailor it becomes very obvious i think. Allways out of dust and filling the bank with all other mats.

And you have bunched up on all the shards already i assume? =)

Didnt go too mad as i am not sure just how much they will go up in price. I have quite a lot as, when i was DE'ing loads of the rings, I got the occasional shard and I let those build up and didnt sell them as they were so cheap assuming that they would become useful at some point. So got a couple of hundred kicking around.

The last comment on page 1 of that link Trogg posted makes it sounds like they are on the PTR now.

Quote
I dont have 450 enchanting on the PTR (only 440), but from what I have heard the mats for the two new enchants
Enchant Bracer - Major Stamina: 4 Greater Cosmic Essence, 4 Dream Shard, 4 Abyss Crystal
Enchant Weapon - Titanguard: 12 Dream Shards

The cost to purchase each from the vendor to learn is 5 Abyss Crystals and requires 450 enchanting (yes, there is now a reason to have maxed enchanting)

Update: 450 enchanting. Got stam on bracers and virtually all the shard-bought patterns as well (I think I need Black Magic still).

Also, arcane resistance on cloak, yay for pointless world-drop patterns Wink
